Blue Highway Games would love to sponsor a Game Night at your school. We can focus on math, general education (math, literacy & geography), or just make it a fun community event. Kids have a blast and don't focus on the fact that they are using math/reading skills while playing. It introduces parents to tools that they can use at home, and builds community by getting families to play together.
We will partner with the PTA or other group to put on an event at your school. It is run "open house" style. We set up 20-30 games in the cafeteria and families can come and go as they please, trying a number of games during the evening.
How it works:
- Free event with no minimum purchase fee or up front costs.
- We provide a library of games that can be used during the event.
- We help run games and train parents and volunteers to help.
- We sell the same games that people are playing and donate 20% of the proceeds back to the school.
The school just needs to provide:
- A place to play (typically the cafeteria or gym).
- 8-12 Parent/Teacher volunteers to help run games.
- A volunteer to help distribute purchased games back to the parents. We will bring a box of games to the school after the event.
We will work with you to customize the event to match your needs. In general we suggest games that meet the following criteria:
- Games that are easy to learn and quick to play.
- Games that are fun, but that have an educational component.
- A variety of games for different ages.
- Some famliiar games and some that with be new to people.
