Each time an objective is achieved on one side or the other, that player reads aloud from his/her book. The book will contain 5-8 playable scenarios, each divided into 3 chapters.

Mythos Tales is a card game with a central board, utilizing dice rolls and strategy. Three tiles (objectives) are selected and placed in the middle of the board. To beat the other side out of a tile, cards are played and dice rolled; tokens are rewarded and placed on tiles. The first player to win any objective references the objective's name in their Story Book. A passage is read aloud by the winning player to the other player. Then another tile is placed on the board to replace the previously won tile. Each objective also rewards a number of points to the winning player. Play resumes over 3 Chapters of play each scenario. The player with the most points is the winner.

The game comes with two decks of cards (card selection is scenario specific) - one for the Cultists and one for the Investigators. There will be two miniature sculptures in the game to be use to track scoring on both sides. Also, the game comes with a set of 10 custom dice. 5 Dice for the Cultists, and 5 for the Investigators. Objectives are represented in the form of tiles or large cards placed in the center of the board. Each scenario will utilize different tiles, and there will be about 20-30 available for each scenario.

The scenarios will have fun, provocative passages you read to the other player when you defeat them on each objective. But gameplay is designed to allow for repeated plays of scenarios. This will be a perfect two player storytelling game, and a very engaging 4 player team game.
