What is a Puzzle Exchange?
A Puzzle Exchange is a FREE community event for puzzle enthusiasts and hobbyists to trade, exchange, and talk puzzles with one another as well as a space for puzzle-curious folks to learn more about jigsaws and pick up a few free used ones to give puzzling a try!
More details about our event below!

What to expect from our Puzzle Exchange:

- Bring A Puzzle, Take A Puzzle! For every even 1-for-1 exchange of puzzles you do, you will earn a punch on a punch card! After 8 punches the punch card is full and can be used for 20% Off a NEW puzzle (in-store only)! Only one punch card discount can be applied to a puzzle, the discounts do not stack. Here are examples of how the exchange punches work: Ex 1. If you bring in 8 and pick up 5, you'll earn 5 punches. Ex 2. If you bring in 5 and pick up 8, you'll earn 5 punches.

- Open House Styled Event: Come when you can and stay as long as you'd like between 11 AM-3 PM! Please drop off all your puzzles at the counter with the staff running the event. The puzzles will be counted, secured as closed, then roughly organized by staff into groupings by piece count out onto different tables. The entire downstairs area will be reserved for event. Some tables will be used for browsing the used puzzles and some tables will be available for folks to set down their bags/boxes on while they browse.

- Most Puzzle Types are welcome! We welcome all piece counts, images, materials, and age ranges! Examples: standard-cut to wacky/whimsy-cut pieces, kid puzzles, holiday puzzles, wood puzzles, etc. Please refrain from bringing in 3D puzzles, foam puzzles, or brainteasers.

- A gentle reminder that we are NOT a donation site for used puzzles. We ask that you please refrain from bringing mass amounts of puzzles all at once and taking little-to-none home with you. If you are looking for a way to donate used puzzles we will gladly suggest some ways to do that.

- Puzzle Condition: puzzles and their boxes must be in decent to like-new condition - this is an honor system. BHG does not verify the quality of each puzzle however heavily damaged puzzles may not be accepted. Missing Pieces: if a puzzle is missing multiple pieces or the pieces are quite damaged, please refrain from bringing it in. Many missing pieces is not a pleasant experience for other puzzlers, especially if not disclosed. If a puzzle is missing only 1-2 pieces, please make a note like "1 missing piece" by writing on the box or on a sticky note taped to the box. Puzzle Boxes: all puzzles must be in a box, not a bag. If the box is damaged or not secure, please internally bag the pieces. If inside a blank box, please write the rough puzzle piece count i.e. "500 pieces" and the images theme or a brief description i.e. "City Skyline" or "Flowers in Vase".

- How to Prepare a Puzzle for an Exchange or Swap: All puzzles should be rubber banded or taped shut so that boxes stay closed and pieces stay together. Many folks find it very helpful to also internally bag the puzzle pieces such as in a large Ziploc. This is to keep pieces from falling out or lost between households. We have rubber bands at the counter for folks who forget or did not have supplies at home. If you are able to secure the puzzles before bringing them in it greatly helps staff speed up the processing of accepting puzzles at the counter!

- Event Etiquette & Expectations: To keep this event manageable, calm, and enjoyable for all, we ask all participants to follow the listed etiquette.

Heads up, this is a VERY popular event! Many people and hundreds of puzzles come and go during this 4-hour event. Typically it is busiest between roughly 12:00-2p. If you'd like to browse during a quieter time, we recommend stopping in at 11:00a or after 2:00p.

WE'D LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE!
