Dungeons & Dragons has been a fan favorite for generations. To sum it up, D&D is an immersive fantasy story-telling game where players are led through a storyline created by the Dungeon Master (DM) by role-playing as unique characters with varying powers and skills.
D&D was released in 1974 and in 1997 was acquired by Wizards of the Coast (a local company based in Renton, WA!). D&D is the most popular Role Playing Game (RPG) ever created. With so much history it can be intimidating to figure out where to start with learning the game and finding a group to join. This is why Blue Highway Game is now offering a series of D&D 101 classes for ages 13 and up!
Register for individual classes or save and register for the bundle!
If you are brand new to D&D we highly recommend that you take our classes in order from Week 1-3 as they are intentionally structured to build upon the week prior. Week 4 is recommended to any D&D player looking to learn how to DM for their own group or campaign. BHG will provide all supplies needed for the classes. If attendees wish to bring their own supplies such as dice sets or books, feel free to do so! BHG also has all necessary D&D supplies available for purchase.
Class Day & Time: Mondays from 6:00-8:00 PM
We ask that all participants arrive a few minutes early to allow for check-in.
Class Sizes: 1-6
Age: D&D 101 classes are open to teens ages 13+ and adults.
*Children ages 10-12 are allowed to attend if accompanied by a registered & participating adult.*
Single Class - $30
Bundle Classes (All 4) - $100 (Save $20!)
Refunds are issued as store-credit if the registered individual cancels their attendance more than 24-hours in advance. If the registered individual cancels with less than 24-hour notice or no-shows to the class they will receive no refund.
If BHG has to cancel a class for any reason, the registered individuals will receive the choice between a credit card/check refund or store credit to apply to future classes or purchases.
Waitlists are available for all classes if the class is full. If you join a class waitlist and a registered individual withdraws from the class with more than 24-hour notice you may receive a call from BHG to see if you'd like to take their seat. Waitlisting for classes is not recommended for individuals who purchase the class bundle.
"The Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game is about storytelling in worlds of swords and sorcery. Like games of make-believe, D&D is driven by imagination. It’s about picturing a crumbling castle in a darkening forest and imagining how a fantasy adventurer might react to the challenges that scene presents.
In this fantasy world, the possibilities are limitless.
Unlike a game of make-believe, D&D gives structure to the stories—a way of determining the consequences of the adventurers’ actions. Players roll dice to determine whether their attacks hit or miss and whether their characters can scale a cliff, roll away from the strike of a magical lightning bolt, or pull off some other dangerous task. Anything is possible, but the dice make some things more probable than others."
